Joshua Cox is a seasoned Licensed Nurse with more than a decade of dedicated service in the long-term care and post-acute care continuum. Beginning his career as a nursing assistant, Josh’s drive for excellence propelled him through progressive leadership roles including Assistant Director of Nursing Services and Infection Control Nurse. Over the past six years, he has honed his expertise in his true professional passion: the Minimum Data Set (MDS), clinical reimbursement, federal regulatory compliance, and CMS Quality Initiatives.

Recognized for his extensive knowledge of the MDS 3.0 RAI process, Quality Measures, PDPM methodology, and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement systems, Josh brings a depth of insight that supports both clinical integrity and financial accuracy. His expertise includes assessment accuracy, care planning best practices, and optimization of reimbursement within federal and state regulations, ensuring facilities achieve high-quality outcomes while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.

In his role as Project Manager, Josh partners with facilities to enhance electronic health record (EHR) systems and streamline clinical workflows. He is also an educator in the world of MDS, providing in-depth training that equips new MDS nurses and their teams with the knowledge and confidence to code accurately, document effectively, and meet evolving CMS requirements. Known for his collaborative and practical teaching style, Josh continues to work directly with facilities on MDS assessment completion and care plan development, ensuring real-world application of best practices.
