How long have you been with Engage Consulting, and how long have you been a nurse?

I have been a nurse for 22 years and have worked in the MDS and clinical reimbursement field for the past 17 years. Before joining Engage Consulting in November 2022, I worked for my family's owned and operated skilled nursing facilities. After the facilities were sold following the challenges of COVID, I was presented with the opportunity to join the Engage Consulting team. It was the perfect next step in my career, allowing me to combine my passion for clinical excellence, education, and helping facilities achieve success.

What is your current role, and what are your primary responsibilities?

I currently serve as the Director of Clinical Consulting. I have the privilege of partnering with skilled nursing facilities across several states to improve quality outcomes, strengthen clinical processes, and provide education. I also oversee our Interim MDS Division, ensuring facilities have experienced MDS support during staff vacancies, PTO, medical leaves, onboarding, training, and transitions.

What has been one of your most rewarding projects or accomplishments?

Helping facilities improve their Five-Star Quality Ratings has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Watching a building transform from a 2-Star Quality Measure rating to a 5-Star rating through education, collaboration, and process improvement is incredibly fulfilling. The best part is seeing the interdisciplinary team come together with a shared commitment to quality care. When everyone understands how their role impacts resident outcomes, the results speak for themselves.

What do you enjoy most about working at Engage Consulting?

Without a doubt, it's the people. Engage Consulting has created a culture where teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect are part of everything we do. I truly feel valued as both a leader and a team member, and that positive environment allows us to provide exceptional support to our clients. We celebrate each other's successes, lean on one another's expertise, and genuinely enjoy working together.

What is one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

People are often surprised to learn that I enjoy sourdough baking! I love experimenting with new recipes and baking alongside my daughter. It's become one of our favorite traditions and a great way to unwind and spend quality time together outside of our busy schedules.

What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?

Our weekends revolve around our kids' activities, and I wouldn't have it any other way! My oldest son is 16 (almost 17) and plays football under the Friday night lights. My 15-year-old daughter keeps us busy with both tennis and school/travel lacrosse, and our youngest, who is 8, plays football, soccer, basketball, and volleyball throughout the year. Between practices, games, and tournaments, we're always on the go, but I love every minute of it. We also make time to enjoy family gatherings, spend time with friends, and create memories together whenever we can.

Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us, Beth! We appreciate everything you do to support our clients!
